PROMOTE TO PROTECT CULTURE
The Cultural Diverse Institute is a an independent organization, that aims to protect cultural expressions by promoting the creation, production, distribution and access to activities and practices around the world. Founded in 2003 in São Paulo, it became a non-profit association in Barcelona, focused on encouraging cultural policies in the Iberoamerican territory.

The organization has worked actively on the construction of an international agenda for cultural diversity, that ended up on the creation of the UNESCO's Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, in 2005.

MISSION
UNESCO defines culture as "the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group, that encompasses, not only art and literature, but lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs". As such, our job is to outspread practices that illustrates values of all kinds of peoples, creating new forms of dialogue among communities.
